Judith’s fine artwork reflects a harmonious expression of both nature and imagination, exploring themes of life, beauty, emotion, birth, healing and transformation. Working primarily with acrylic, watercolor, pastel, and collage she paints allowing colors, shapes and emotions to flow naturally, forming beautifully expressive imagery. She celebrates her love of nature through sensual depictions of landscapes, interiors, and the human form, while drawing upon inspirations from dreams, meditations, and inner imagery.
Judith also works by commission, consulting with a client to gather themes, symbols, colors, and ideas to create a personally meaningful work of art. Commissioned paintings can honor a person and/or a life passage, including pregnancy, birth, birthdays, adolescent coming of age, weddings, graduations, etc. They can also be created with the intent to soothe and to heal.
One client requested a painting for her daughter’s graduation. Judith created a triptych that portrayed images of the young woman’s hopes and dreams, as she began a new part of her life. Another client commissioned a painting for her husband’s birthday that included scenes from his favorite coastal Maine fishing village.
